Reader Stories: Traveling for Hajj

See Published Stories

Hajj is known as "the journey of a lifetime." Three million Muslims travel every year to the city of Makkah for the Hajj, or pilgrimage. Hajj is considered one of the five "pillars" of Islam. Muslims are required to perform Hajj once in a lifetime, if they are physically and financially able to make the journey.

The pilgrimage to Makkah requires careful planning and preparation. How do you choose a reputable travel agent? What forms do you need for a visa? What should you pack? What tips did you wish you had known before traveling? Share your experience and help others be well-prepared for the journey.
