In Muslim countries, the adhan (call to prayer) rings out over the land for each of the five daily prayers. In areas where the adhan cannot be heard, these computer programs will call the adhan for you in your home. Download the software and sound files, program your location, and the computer takes care of the rest.

1. Prayer Times Program

This is an easy-to-use freeware program that calculates local prayer times, calls the adhan, plays Qur'an recitation before the adhan, and pops-up warnings on your desktop when prayer times are approaching. Includes several adhan sound files and LiveUpdate capabilities.

2. IslamicFinder Adhan Software

IslamicFinder offers this adhan program in both a basic (free) version and a pro version (for purchase). The basic program includes adhan software, prayer times in 6 million cities worldwide, programmable calculations, trilingual interface, and more. The fee-based program offers more choices and additional programs such as a date converter and qibla direction.

3. Salaat Time 1.8

A free application that calculates the prescribed five daily Muslim prayer times as well as Qiblah direction for anywhere in the world. It rests in the system tray and at the prescribed times the Athan sounds and/or displays visual alerts. Select from a variety of adhans, or use your own for each prayer.
