The following organizations have the resources and expertise to help you round out your curriculum with information about Muslims and the Muslim world. Check with them for curriculum guides, books for all ages, and more teacher resources.

1. CIE: Council on Islamic Education

CIE offers a number of important resources to help educators teach about Islam, Muslim history, and related world history topics. They offer teacher training workshops, online lesson plans, a teacher's forum, and other teaching units and resources.

2. AWAIR: Arab World and Islamic Resources

AWAIR conducts staff development workshops and publishes educational material about Islam and the Arab world for all age levels.

3. CAIR: Council on American-Islamic Relations

This non-profit organization challeges misrepresentations of Islam and is a clearinghouse of information about Islam and American Muslims. Among their many services are conferences, seminars, and publications about Islam, and up-to-date information about issues facing Muslims in North America.
