Sources of free reading material to introduce you to the faith

Looking for some basic information about Islam? These organizations will send you literature by mail, simply upon request. English translations of the Qur'an, booklets, and brochures are available free of charge. For more in-depth reading about the faith, please check our "Top Picks" for introductory books about Islam.

The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia, Washington, D.C.

Upon request, the embassy will send a free booklet called "Introduction to Islam," and free copies of the Holy Qur'an in Arabic, English, French, Turkish, Urdu, Somali, Chinese, Peshto or Bangali languages. They also offer an Introductory Packet for New Muslims.

IslamiCity

Offers the following literature, free of charge: "Pillars of Islam," "Women and Islam," "Who is Muhammad?" and English translations of the Qur'an.

Institute of Islamic Information and Education (III&E)

This organization prints dozens of brochures about Islam; individual brochures are free. Titles include: "Concept of God in Islam," "Human Rights in Islam," "Jihad Explained" and "The Question of Hijab." Brochures in Spanish also available.

Islamic Circle of North America

Numerous brochures available that can be mailed to you for free, or read online. Titles include: "What Does Islam Say About Terrorism?" and "Who Was Jesus?"
