Note about Islamic dates:  The Islamic Calendar is a lunar-based calendar.  The first day of a new month is marked by the visible appearance of the crescent moon.  The following dates are anticipated, but will need to be confirmed by the actual sighting of the moon.  Please contact your local Islamic center for confirmation as the dates approach.

 

Ramadan (month of fasting):            ~ November 28 - December 26, 2000

'Eid al-Fitr:                                     ~ December 27, 2000

Hajj (pilgrimage season):                  ~ March 3-5, 2001

'Eid al-Adha:                                  ~ March 5, 2001

New Hijri Year                               ~ March 26, 2001 (Hijri year 1422 begins)
