Eyes are on the U.S. state of Iowa, as the U.S. presidential election process gets underway with caucuses in that state. But Iowa is known for another historic reason, of which many people are unaware: the city of Cedar Rapids is home to the oldest Islamic mosque in the United States. Built in 1934, during the height of the Great Depression, the "Mother Mosque of America" is now on the National Register of Historic Places.
