The disgusting trailer for the anti-Islam film, "Innocence of Muslims" is getting undeserved attention due to reaction in the Muslim world. The film "trailer" was designed to cause outrage and political turmoil. The filmmakers are getting exactly what they want as protestors take to the streets and commit violence in Libya, Eygpt, Yemen, Morocco, and Tunisia. The trailer has been out on the web for months, but it is only now that anyone is hearing of it, watching it, and wanting to know more about it. The best "protest" of such bigotry is to completely ignore it, and let those behind the obscure film languish in anonymity, their time and money wasted as their message fades, unnoticed.
The shady characters behind the film are anti-Islam activists with a history of provocation, and the main producer is a liar with many aliases and a criminal history (bank fraud, intent to manufacture methamphetamine, probation violation). Why does anyone care what these people do or think? Give them the credit they deserve: absolutely nothing. Don't let their overt blasphemy against Islam and our Prophet (pbuh) phase you. They and their work tell enough of a story: "Liars with criminal histories and anti-Islam biases produce really horrible, low-budget film trailer." So what. It is beneath us to give them a moment's thought or anguish.

A large part of the misunderstanding is in Islam itself. As a U.S. Citizen I have got to say categorically, we will never ban or prosecute these ridiculous productions. We will never understand why when a donkey climbs a hill to bray and winnie at the moon so many in Islam feel compelled to join it. If the Prophet needs to be defended from this, well, then the Prophet is indefensible. If Islam must stand on its authority as a religion to enforce respect then, well, it has earned no respect and is actually as irrelevant as any other religion. [edited for foul language]

Holy Prophet Muhamed, the sublimest of the mankind and a role model in the world does not at deserve that any Tom and Jerry thinks the most ridiculous ideas about Him and make a movie unbridled. The utmost sanctity and respect of Holy Prophet Muhamed (P.B.U.H) holds the centrality and corner-stone in Islam, therefore, no one can be a Muslim if he/she does not treats the Holy Prophet above all the relations in the world, whatsoever.
@Steven Armstrong: As a nonMuslim you may miss the point. It isn’t that anyone “needs” to defend the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). It is that we as Muslims love him so much that we feel hurt when people slander him. If someone unjustly insulted your parents wouldn’t you react? Many of us love him more than our own families because of who he was and what he accomplished.
I condemn all violence. I agree that the makers of the film have the right to make such filth. That’s the price of a free society. However, I will pray that God shows them the error of their ways, and I will continue to bless and try to emulate the Prophet who was truly one of the best of men who ever lived.
I recommend reading a good biography either the one by Yahiya Emerick Muhammed, Critical Lives or Karen Armstrong Muhammed Biography of the Prophet. Both are excellent and may increase your knowledge.
@irenefreeman: But shouldn’t the punishment be left up to God, should man be the one to pass judgement, and how severe should the punishment be? It seems that when protest turn violent it is only the innocent who end up being injured or killed.
just as they ( corrupted demoralized people ) disgraced and degraded nabi Esa (Jesus ) pbuh and brought about dissension among the people, so they are sowing the seeds of discontent and dis unity in the world.
Prophet Mohammed ( PBUH ) is the in comparable model & gift to all human beings for the presence / past and the future. A Film never explain His ( PBUH ) life style. Everybody knows Mohammed ( PBUH ) true life.

By the way, Muslims are the only people who greet others with a proper salutation which means PEACE BE WITH YOU. Christians came nearest to a MEANINGFUL SALUTATION when they said GOD BE WITH YE. But they lost the spirit and shortened it to GOODBYE…..Greeting other people by repeating the names of your deity is only being supercilious, trying to remind others that you know best…..
I read many wise comments and would like to add something. Muslims do not have the problem about the film made by some ignorant rather they are annoyed by the attitude of the so-called champions of the democracy, who say that the protests must be stopped. They don’t have the moral courage to declare such an ignorant film maker a terrorist. A terrorist who is responsible for violence around the world and loss of many lives. Unfortunately boasters of democracy provide protection to such offenders who try to ridicule a religion like Islam. The Islam which is the real religion of Peace and tolerance and have respect equally for all religions and their founders. We appeal to the champions of democracy to honor the rights of Muslims and punish the transgressor in an exeplary way.

It is very correct to respect freedom of everyone.To hurt an innocent person is equally wrong but at the same time it is wrong to insult others in the name of freedom.Surely why should someone with sane mind waste his time to come out with disgusting film well knowing that it is going to hurt other people`s feelings?If the Muslims did not react, am sure this film would continue to spread all over the world and you can imagine how the ignorant people on Islam would be viewing our PROPHET and our religion.The reaction has sent the right signal.
