Tunisia Bans Hajj This Year
The Sydney Morning Herald and other news organizations report that Tunisia has become the first country to ban its citizens from attending the 2009 Hajj. Tunisian authorities announced that the ban is intended to "preserve human life," since an H1N1/swine flu vaccine will not be available in that country in time to vaccinate pilgrims. Ten thousand pilgrims from Tunisia usually travel for Hajj each year.
In the meantime, schools in Saudi Arabia will begin opening for the 2009-10 school year in the coming two weeks. Officials had delayed the start of school in order to give time for teachers to be trained on flu prevention techniques, and as a preventative measure against the spread of the flu among children returning from summer and Ramadan travel.

yes show much is said about the H1 N1, but one thing is very sure , what will be will surely be no matter the kind of prefentions . its quite resonable and normal for one to try as much as possible to prevents and try as much as possible to guides against the type of calamity . since prevention so as they says better than cure , but its totally out of sense to boycut the pilgrmage because of this so call H1 N1 . i belive those who have this in there mind were not actually a real practising muslim . you don,t run away from death , it will catches up with you where ever you might be . so its no wonder some peoples find them self colapsing and died even in there own toilets before being taking to hospital
I feel as though the swine flu has been greatly overblown, we had a 14year old girl die from the vaccine this past week here in the U.S and after her death there has been a few others and the media is just catching on. I think people should read up on this vaccine before taking it.
wonders shall never end. in tunisia country which we thing is a islamic state, just becus they are afraid of what will happened even if you want it or not it will happened that is death. they will now stop it citizen from performing one of the pillars of islam. no wonder, the prophet said you should go to hajj because time will come even if you want to go you will not be opportune, an this is the time. ina llahi wa ni hilahirajihun.

Haba! I believe the action by the Tunis is like killing ant with a sledge hammer. Even the Kufar (Unbelievers) should not reason the way they have done. It is in fact a big challenge and slap on true Muslims in that country. The true Muslims should start to probe the Government action. Don’t they have a good Medical team? IHIDINA SIRATAL MUSTAQIM.
What about Palestinians they let them go to Hajj or still Embargo without Vaccination!

It is correct the stop the pilgrims of Tunisia from going for Hajj, if a plague is indeed present in Tunisia.
Narrated Usama bin Zaid: Allah’s Apostle said, “plague was a means of torture sent on a group of Israelis (or on some people before you). So if you hear of its spread in a land, don’t approach it, and if a plague should appear in a land where you are present, then don’t leave that land in order to run away from it (i.e. plague).” (Sahih Al-Bukhari Book #56, Hadith #679)
Narrated Saud: The Prophet said, “If you hear of an outbreak of plague in a land, do not enter it; but if the plague breaks out in a place while you are in it, do not leave that place.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari Book #71, Hadith #624)
There are at least 2 more Hadith Supporting This Action In Sahih Al-Bukhari, Alone.
That is such a dum reason for them not to go for hajj.This virus is over-rated.

It is ridiculous and much more a shame and a cowardly act to be fearful to a degree of officially declaring a “ban”, instead of laying one’s faith on Allah-the-Almighty and seeking His help and making every safety measures jointly with all the ummah; whom every benevolent gift have been provided : monetary & otherwise. The more the dire difficulties & challenges this ummah has to face the more it should be inclined towards Allah for His mercy; as there is no way to escape/ avoid or from Accepting failurearranging

I believe every preventive measure & effort is being made by the organizers in the Kingdom of Saudia; with whom jointly this ummah has to add to the various means & ways this ‘psychological disease’ more than reality so must be ushered, and not loose this opportunity to prove to the world that muslims are always at the mercy of Allah only & fear nothing but Him in every sense.
This ummah has to prove that such diseases often attack only those who disregard, disrespect, dishonor Allah-the Almighty. The causes of these unexpected diseases are actually a curse due to ungratefulness /disloyalty and not adhering to the commandments of Allah-the Almighty and the teachings of the last Holy Prophet sent for mankind: Mohammed (peace & blessings of Allah be upon him). As I am sure this Haj will be even more blessed than ever before, numerically … ; InshaAllah !

I performed several Umrah, by the blessings of ALLAH-the Almighty & was for a week in all the Holy places of Mecca-e- Mukarramah and Madina-e-Munnawarah. All along the Holy month of Ramzaan and all the year round; this great Ummah all over the world and on every pray are getting together without any hesitation & absolutely fearlessly. Alhamdulillah this ummah is blessed; as no untoward incidents of swine-flu are heard of, to the magnitude & fear that is projected by the medias’ & disbelievers.
In every masjid, for every prayer, this ummah has to prostrate and ask for the protection of Allah as the sacred most basic duties. Live a life at every step, as commanded, in every walk of life, on every micro-moment. This ummah must gather the strength individually & collectively; physically, mentally, spiritually and in every nook & corner of the planet; so that optimum purity is maintained of body & soul; individually & collectively & constantly evading evil, from every walk-of-our-lives; universally. It is not just the air but every element/ energy/ powers so existent on the earth; that needs to be purified; by our good deeds, noble-values, sincerity in devotion & belief in the One and Only One, Lord, God of mankind and the universe : ALLAH-the Almighty; and our truthful & unshaken conviction on the belief that we follow the teachings of the Last Holy Prophet for all mankind : Mohammed (sallallaho-alaihe-wassallam). Only this ultimate conviction can protect, prevent and lead us to progress towards peace & benevolence in the world and the hereafter.
The only comfort , that we give them is a nice word, and than God accept their work, and give them a rank of Hajj either they have not accomplished one.
We feel in their intention the trace of their devotion to Allah.
A good intention give the inspiration of the artist, architec,the designer, in seeing a piece of wood, paper or material a chief d’oeuvre, dedicated to other.
Their best award is for illuminating the heart and the face of mankind, with their humble thought.

Don’t they believe in Allah’s plan? If its their destiny to die, then they die wherever they may be.
assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. maybe the tunisian government is just cautious about the possible spread of the virus. i think they just beliveve that prevention is better than cure because as what we have observed, this virus is contagious. however, whatever their decisions, we have no right to judge them. only Allah (SAW) knows what they are up to. the best we can do is pray that the minds of the Tunisian government will be enlightened that all things will come to pass and the best measure of prevention for all the disasters the world is facing is only faith. And no man is stronger without his faith in Allah (SAW).
its good to be contious about the flu but it should not be exaggerated to those extremes of missing a life time ibadat like hajj. No man is immortal and is bound to die when his time comes.i think its insane prohibiting people from attending hajj.
Haj is one of the “Arkaan” of islam it is one of the pillars of five principles prescribed by islam. Every wealthy muslim who has the sum available is must for him or her to perform the holy Haj. But the people of Tunisia will remain aloof for this years holy Haj as their Government has a silly reason that they take preventive measures for thier nation to prevent their nation as well as people from Swine Flu. However it is to be noted that the Saudi Government and members of managing Haj committee make and take utmost care for every Haji coming from around the wrold. They make use of new innovative and modern technique to give the best of best service to people. So the government of Tunisia should take basic lessons of prevention from the Saudi authorities and make a quick decion to send their ten thousand people for annual Haj this year. Remember mere just Swine Flu should not be the vital reason for not going to such a fantasitc place. What if same Flu occurs their and then so what would be thier reaction to it. Everything thing is in Allah’s hand and we people can only take preventive measures. But by just not visiting the Holy place on that ground is not good from the point of view of people as well as government. Allah is “Shahfeh Al-Amraaz” Allah is their to guide, care and take care of every Haji and people who are formally or informally involved with the holy Haj. So we people of the world especially Muslim request to the Tunisian Government to send their ten thousand people to Mecca and Madina to perform the holy Haj InshaAllah by such visit their people and nation as a whole would be free from every ailment or any diseases.

Asalam alaikum brothers and sisters. Swine flu is no longer a threat. If countries like Uganda have treated her patients without losing life, what about Saudi Kingdom? Authorities in Tunisia are after weakening Islamic faith.

Its a luck of all Musmil, they got merciful Allah & his messanger Sallallaha Aalaihi wasallam and Allah messenger Sallallaha Aalaihi wasallam says Hajj is a Farz, if a person having that level, then they has to do Hajj, but people are dieing in any how condition, then why they didnt die in Makkah or Madina say SubhanAllah. I am always praying we all specially my family will die in Makkah or Madina. InshaAllah.

Salam,like they say;prevention is beter than cure.This is quite true.But one thing the Tunisian Government should know is that believe in Allah is very essential in our lives as muslims.And how are they even sure that the so-called flu is not in Tunisia already? And come to think of it,we are all going to die someday.And i think to die in Makkah during hajj work is a very great previlege for any muslim.So please,the Tunisian Government should please allow people to go for hajj,because it comes just once in a year and if they are denied this year’s hajj,do they know what calamity might await us next year?Please as muslims,we should always have complete faith in Allah(s.w.t),HE created us and as such HE has every right to test us and see how faithful we are.And i believe this is test of our Imaan and not a way of stopping us from performing hajj.If the Government of other countries should do the same then it means no one will go for this year’s hajj, walyazubillah. The more the evil or calamities strikes mankind the more we (muslins’) have to join in with greater devotion & converge to seek the mercy of ALLAH; that being the only way for releasing ourselves from the “azaab” or curse from ALLAH. These are means and ways of ALLAH-the Almighty; Who wishes to caution/ attract / remind mankind towards Himself; as often as He expresses in all the holy scriptures & the Holy Quraan; that being the very essence; for which all the Holy Prophets left clear signs, teachings, knowledge; through their messages with us all, until the doomsday. The devils have no place to hide from the curse of ALLAH-the-Almighty; be it, in the world or the hereafter. So in reality what is demanded or expected from us all (mankind) is our utter unshaken belief & practice by the commandments of ALLAH-the Almighty and our Last Holy Prophet: Mohammed (peace & blessing of Allah, be upon him) is our presence & not absence; which is no solution for the any universal problems; as there is no escape. — May ALLAH-the-Almighty bless this and all the Hajs’ to come that He enlightens, purifies, the hajis,’ accepts their devotion & in turn pardons all believers in Him and guides mankind to be grateful ’ towards His grace, throughout our lives. – Ameen !
In my opinion the government of a Muslim nation has a right to take such action to protect its citizens. And Hajj no longer is fard if you are prevented by the rulers and you are no longer able to perform it.
A small country like tunisia has every right to take all steps necessary to prevent spread of contagious diseases. With limited resources such an small country is not well positioned to manage spread of a contagious disease like H1N1. The citizens must support this step in the best interest of fellow citizens. Hajj of 100000 muslims cannot be justified by the death of even a single muslim. A muslims life is more precious than a single muslim dying because of callousness.
Islam wants us to be reasonable. Our Prophect ( Sallallaho ‘Alaihe wasallam) set a perfect example when he did not perform Hajj on the occassion of Treaty of Hudaibiyyah. He preferred peace and safety for muslims over performing of Hajj. Performing Hajj is indeed fard. But it is upto Allah to accept it. And if someone is not able to perform Hajj for the safety of fellow muslims, Allah will suitably reward.
