First 10 Days of Dhul-Hijjah

Sunday November 30, 2008
The month of Dhul-Hijjah has begun, the month of the annual Hajj. The first ten days of this month are a special time of devotion, leading up to the culmination of the Hajj experience, the Day of Arafat. Since the Hajj pilgrimage rites take place in Saudi Arabia, most countries follow Saudi Arabia's determination of the month and holiday dates. The Supreme Judicial Council of Saudi Arabia has announced that the Day of Arafat will be next Sunday (7 December), with Eid Al-Adha following on Monday (8 December).
