"Mother Mosque of America" Damaged by Flooding

Severe flooding in the U.S. state of Iowa has caused damage to the oldest mosque in the United States. The so-called "Mother Mosque" of America was the first Muslim mosque built in the United States, and is listed on both the Iowa State Historical Register and the National Register of Historic Places. Dating back to the Great Depression, it had just recently completed a renovation.Local Muslim leaders have called on the Muslim community to help repair the damage, and to donate generously to flood relief efforts in the region.

What is the correct word for a place where muslim offer Salah or Namaz or prayer’s
It should be called as MASJID OR MOSQUE.
Please reply openly with some support of hadith etc.
Personally, I cant contribute any at the moment… I will try someone else. I pray that some generous figure will come forward to give donation.

#7: You have raised some points… however that is not the point of this discussion… alot of people are without a place to practice their religion because of a natural accident.. Now I know alot of people that do not follow in the ways of the Prophet (pbuh) in america, but there are also many that do. I am not a practicing muslim by definition, however follow alot of the ideals. I for one do not believe allah follows a tradition of “two rights make a wrong”.. You may not be a terrorist, however try not expressing yourself as they do okay? Thanks… Allah hafiz
