Jews in Islam

Tuesday August 8, 2006
Does the current conflict in the Middle East define the relationship between Jews and Muslims? What does the Qur'an actually say about Jews and Judaism? What was the Prophet Muhammad's experience with Jewish tribes? How are Muslims supposed to interact with the Jewish people as a whole, when in conflict or at peace? Important reading for Jews and Muslims alike!

(1) Ahmad says:

Can there be found anything positive about unbelieving Jews anywhere in the Holy Qur’aan or Hadith ?

(2) Maha Zahed says:

The Qur’an is very kind when takling its problems especially as regards the People of the Book. Every time it mentions the rongdoers among them it excludes the little who believe or a little of belief in their hearts. Even when God is most angry with them for their blasphimy and other acts that provokes Him, He gives them another chance to repent. For example, in sura v, verse 67 {The Jews say: “Gods hand is tied up..} the Qur’an sets forth a collection of their bad deeds that seem to evoke God’s highest degree of anger. However, immedietly in the next verse, the Qur’an urges them to repent {If only the People of the Book had believed and been righteous, We should indeed have blotted out their iniquities and admitted them to Gardens of bliss.}

Where in my Qu’ran will i find “sura v, verse 67″ please? I don’t understand the “sura v” part.

Also, please tell us why the more moderate Muslim Islamists don’t speak out more and help eradicate the radical Islamists around the world. Your schools and immams could be a great help, if only you would.

Radical Islam has quite the opposite philosophy of Jesus Christ who instructed us to “love one another.” In contrast and on the other hand in the Qu’ran, Muhammad says “Kill the infidels. Quite a belligerent attitude. If Islam is truly peaceful, then why do radical Muslim Islamists keep trying to kill us? In the meantime, i will pray for peace, and for you, and hopefully for your possible offer to defend the tenets of the United States of America, holding true to your vows taken on becoming U.S. citizens, where i presume you are living.

May God bless us all.

Rotags47 - Greetings to you.

1) “Sura v, verse 67″ refers to the 5th chapter of the Qur’an (roman numeral 5), the 67th verse. Please post again if you have further trouble locating it.

2) Muslims all over the world speak out in favor of moderation, condemn violence against innocents, and call for peaceful dialogue. It is common, however, for the radicals to get more airtime. This website strives to let the majority, moderate voices be heard.

3) Please read the following article to see what the Qur’an says about violence and “killing the infidels” - http://islam.about.com/library/weekly/aa090402a.htm

I am proud of my heritage, and of my ancestors who fought for our right to practice the faith of our own choosing. One can uphold the tenets and security of the country, while at the same time criticizing certain practices of the current government. Such is our right and our duty. Best regards to you and yours.
