Alabama revises rule regarding hijab

The Alabama Department of Public Safety (DPS) has revised a rule requiring that Muslim women remove their hijab (religious headcovering) for driver license photographs. Several women have complained of the requirement over the past few months. The DPS announced today that their new policy allows headcoverings in the photo for religious or medical reasons, as long as the full face is visible.
